Every third week of October, the Australian Water Association (AWA) organises National Water Week – inspiring individuals, communities and organisations to build awareness around the value of water.

The AWA encourages water industry organisations, schools and communities to; create, take part in and promote National Water Week events, activities and educational resources.

This year’s theme is, ‘Caring for Water and Country’, celebrating the vital and cultural role that water plays in our lives. This theme recognises the importance that waterways play in our lives and deepens our understanding of Australia’s First Nations people’s knowledge surrounding the protection and sustainability of our water and lands for over 65,000 years.

The AWA provides a range of opportunities to partner with the organisation for National Water Week which can be explored on the AWA website. There are plenty of resources available on the AWA website where you can explore ahead of National Water week including topics such as; Indigenous Water, the water cycle, flushing water, bottled water, using water wisely, caring for our catchments and general water education.
