The Hammond Park Community Association is always busy working on developments that ensure Hammond Park is a safe and friendly place to live. Listed below are just some of the projects they currently have on the go.

Botany Park Oval Upgrade

Last year a concept design was created for the Botany Oval Playground Upgrade by the City of Cockburn staff and the design is currently with the Council for review. Funding for this project is not guaranteed, so HPCA ask that you let your Council and East Ward Councillors know to vote for these works in this month’s Council budget review. Councillors contact details are listed in the HPCA Newsletter.

‘Consider Our Kids’ Fundraiser

HPCA are currently selling ‘Please Slow Down, Consider Our Kids’ stickers, which they have asked to be placed on the side of wheelie bins. Bin stickers are $10 for a set of two and all profits go straight towards community projects. Email hammondpark@cockburncommunity.asn.au to order yours today!

Road Safety

Over the past few months HPCA have been working hard to obtain funding to improve road safety in the area. The new Labor government has pledged $250,000 towards upgrading the intersection of Hammond Rd /Russell Rd /Frankland Ave and the association is still hoping to gain further funding as a result of the 2017/2018 State Budget. Stay tuned for updates on the HPCA Facebook page.

Currently there is a petition to call on the new WA Labor government to fund the widening of the Kwinana Freeway Russell to Roe – Northbound. You can find out more and sign the petition by visiting the change.org website.
